Facebook Breakup Notifier
A new Facebook app called Breakup Notifier has hit the social networking scene, allowing people to be alerted when their crush has broken up with his or her significant other. But is the app super cool or just plain creepy?
"You like someone. They're in a relationship. Be the first to know when they're out of it," the website says. On one hand, it's a pretty convenient service, but on the other, it borders on stalker-like behavior.

Uploaded with ImageShack.us
Here's how it works: First, users log onto Facebook and load the app to their profile. From there, you can select all of the "taken" friends you're interested in. As soon as any of them change their relationship status, you'll be notified via email.
The app says that it'll notify you "whenever the relationship status of your chosen friends changes," so it may also work if you're crushing on someone who's single and you want to be notified in case they couple up.

Ontario Updates Liquor Laws
its a start!
This is a release from the Ontario government:
Ontario is taking the next steps to update alcohol laws to better serve Ontarians. The proposed changes will remove unnecessary barriers and restrictions for special events, festivals, and licensed establishments. This will provide Ontarians with a more enjoyable experience, and improve tourism and local economies.
The province will begin consultations on a number of proposed changes, including:
* Removing the need for beer tents at events and festivals so people can walk around freely with drinks
* Extending the hours that alcohol can be served at special events, such as weddings or charity fundraisers, from 1 a.m. to 2 a.m., to be consistent with licensed establishments
* Allowing all-inclusive vacation packages to be sold in Ontario
* Allowing people to circulate in retail booth areas of festivals with beverages.
The government is also proposing to expand its enforcement options against licensees who violate Ontario's liquor laws, including monetary fines.

Iowa high school wrestler explains why he refused to take on female opponent
APWrestler Joel Northrup, , of Linn-Mar High School in Iowa, defaulted on his first-round match at the Iowa State Wrestling tournament last week for refusing to wrestle opponent Cassy Herkelman, of Cedar Falls.
High school wrestler Joel Northrup's decision to forfeit his first-round match in Iowa's state tournament last week is getting national attention.
Northrup, a favorite to win in the 112-pound weight class, refused to wrestle because his first-round opponent would have been Cassy Herkelman, a female athlete from Cedar Falls.
Appearing on Fox & Friends on Wednesday morning, Northrup explained his decision and why he doesn't believe wrestling should be a co-ed sport.
“Wrestling is a combat sport and it gets violent at times, you get put in holds that are compromising and I just don’t feel it’s right that boys and girls should wrestle in a manner like this," Northrup said, adding that his religious beliefs also played a role in his decision. “It’s more of a biblical principle of treating the opposite gender with respect.”
Opinions on Northrup's decision have been strongly divided. In one letter to the editor published in the Des Moines Register, Rachel Bandy wrote: "I was disappointed to read that Joel Northrup refused to wrestle Cassy Herkelman because she is a girl. I am even more disappointed to see his refusal being couched as the act of a gentleman or inspired by good sportsmanship. Even Herkelman's family, in an effort to be gracious, no doubt, didn't call it for what it is: sexism."

Spartacus: Blood and Sand
this show i tell ya..
http://www.starz.com/originals/Spartacus
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Spartacus: Blood and Sand is a Starz television series that premiered on January 22, 2010. The series focuses on the historical figure of Spartacus (played by Andy Whitfield), a Thracian gladiator who from 73 to 71 BC led a major slave uprising against the Roman Republic. Executive producers Steven S. DeKnight and Robert Tapert focused on structuring the events of Spartacus' obscure early life leading up to the beginning of historical records.[2] The show has been rated TV-MA for graphic violence, strong sexual content, and coarse language.
The show was initially renewed for a second season but production was delayed because Whitfield was diagnosed with early-stage non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Due to the delay, Starz produced a six-episode prequel series, entitled Spartacus: Gods of the Arena. Pre-production of season 2 began following the announcement that Whitfield was cancer free,[3] however his cancer recurred.[4] Starz has since replaced Whitfield with actor Liam McIntyre, who will play Spartacus for season two.
Producers Steven S. DeKnight and Robert Tapert have stated they used two historical consultants, with whom they exchanged scripts.[2] Despite this, the series contains a number of historical errors.
Notable errors and fallacies are:
* Lentulus Batiatus' praenomen is given as "Quintus". However, the praenomen of the historical Batiatus was "Gnaeus".
* Batiatus is depicted having an ambition to become a magistrate or a senator. Historically this would have been impossible, as lanistae (and ex-lanistae), being infames through virtue of their profession, were not permitted to serve either as magistrates or as senators. A lanista was regarded as both a butcher (lanius) and a pimp (leno).[
* Guards are shown dressed as Roman legionaries wearing lorica segmentata. The first attested use of this type of armor by legionaries dates to around 9 BC,six decades after Spartacus' revolt.
* Barca is described as a Carthaginian and as being the last prisoner left alive from the fall of Carthage.[34] However, Carthage was destroyed by Rome in 146 BC (at the end of the Third Punic War), seven decades before the time in which the series is set.
* In the show, Batiatus purchases six slaves for 100 denarii. At this period, the average price for a slave was between 960 and 4000 denarii, with the cheapest known costing 75 denarii.
* Historically, the revolt of Spartacus began with the rebels seizing kitchen utensils as weapons, before they were able to obtain swords.
* When the viewer last sees Glaber he is considering running for the office of praetor as Spartacus rebels. Historically, he was already serving as praetor when the revolt started.
regardless its pretty entertaining.

the clash
Say you stand by your man
Tell me something I don't understand
You said you love me and that's a fact
Then you left me, said you felt trapped
Well some things you can explain away
But my heartache's in me till this day
[Chorus]
Did you stand by me
No, not at all
Did you stand by me
No way
All the times
When we were close
I'll remember these things the most
I see all my dreams come tumbling down
I won't be happy without you around
So all alone I keep the wolves at bay
There is only one thing that I can say
[Chorus]
You must explain why this must be
Did you lie when you spoke to me
Did you stand by me
No, not at all
Now I got a job
But it don't pay
I need new clothes
I need somewhere to stay
But without all these things I can do
But without your love I won't make it through
But you don't understand my point of view
I suppose there's nothing I can do
[Chorus]
You must explain why this must be
Did you lie when you spoke to me?
Did you stand by me
Did you stand by me
No, not at all
Did you stand by me
No way
Did you stand by me
No, not at all
Did you stand by me
No way

Number of break-ups rises on Valentine's Day
No more romance! Now Valentine's Day could soon be observed as the day of divorce as a study suggests more number of couples part ways on Feb 14.
Instead of chocolates, roses and gifts, the most romantic day could be more about lawyers, papers and hatred as the number of couples filing for divorce Feb 14 has increased by around 40 percent in the last two years, the Daily Mail reported.
According to the New York Post, a data compiled by Awo.com - a site that offers free ratings and profiles for lawyers - showed that the rate has increased over the last two years.
"Over the past two years we've seen an average increase of 40 percent in the number of requests for divorce lawyers around Valentine's Day, compared to the previous six months," Mark Britton, founder and CEO of Awo was quoted as saying.
"Furthermore, the number of questions about divorce has soared 36 percent during that same time. Indeed, there's definitely a major Valentine's spike when it comes to divorce."
Kelly Chang, a Los Angeles-based divorce lawyer, said she has seen an increase in divorce filings shortly after Valentine's Day.
New Jersey lawyer Cary Cheifetz told the New York Post: "I see it as a combination of cabin fever, people waiting until after the holidays and most importantly, people waiting until they know what their spouse's bonus and income situation will be in the New Year."

Chopper Gunner, Predator, AC-130,
These all boost my kills,
my tactics aren’t dirty,
8 days I’ve spent with you none that I regret,
35 kills in a row, my highest streak yet,
I’ll always stay faithful, until your sequel,
Along came Paul Flynn, my only equal,
Teamed up with me to show our love,
Down came my nuke, high from above.

The Army's Remote-Controlled Beetle
A giant flower beetle with implanted electrodes and a radio receiver on its back can be wirelessly controlled, according to research presented this week. Scientists at the University of California developed a tiny rig that receives control signals from a nearby computer. Electrical signals delivered via the electrodes command the insect to take off, turn left or right, or hover in midflight. The research, funded by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), could one day be used for surveillance purposes or for search-and-rescue missions.
Remote-Controlled Humans
This sort of electrical stimulation is known as galvanic vestibular stimulation, or GVS. When a weak DC current is delivered to the mastoid behind your ear, your body responds by shifting your balance toward the anode. The stronger the current, the more powerful its pull. If it is strong enough, it not only throws you off balance but alters the course of your movement

No Super Mario Game
"I was in shock, I mean it was beyond unbelievable," she said. "My 6-year-old son saw it, my 8-year-old too, and neither should ever see that."
What their child found wasn't an innocent Super Mario game.
Instead, Alicia says it was a pornographic photo, apparently taken by the DSI's previous owner, with the unit's built-in camera.
Alicia said "there were two pictures already on it. One was a man's face, one was of his private parts. Yes, we all saw it!"

Quebec speeder clocked at 240 km/h Gets $2,598 ticket, 42 demerit points !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
from CBC News
Quebec provincial police stopped a man driving 240 kilometres an hour on Montreal's Ville-Marie Expressway early Friday in one of the worst cases of speeding in Canadian history.
The car was caught on radar in a 70 km/h zone at 3 a.m. ET, and police stopped the BMW SUV just before it entered the tunnel.
Police spokeswoman Geneviève Bruneau said the 20-year-old man's licence has been suspended.
"The man who was driving the car received a ticket of $2,598 and he also received 42 demerit points," Bruneau added.
Bruneau said that normally, drivers can only be assessed a maximum of 15 demerit points, but new provincial laws allow more points to be taken away from particularly egregious offenders.
In Quebec, drivers are given 30 or more demerit points if they surpass the speed limit by 121 km/h or more. Licences are suspended when drivers receive 15 demerit points or more, and the suspension period lasts between 3 months and 12 months depending on prior offences.
Bruneau said the driver was sober and co-operated with police. His car was towed away and he will have to pay towing costs to get it back.
Incident could make history
Quebec's automobile insurance corporation, the SAAQ, said they are searching their records to see whether Friday's incident is the worst in the province's history.
But the incident is easily among the most notable speeding cases in Canada in recent memory.
Last September, two motorcyclists were caught going 220 km/h on a highway in Quebec's Eastern Townships, and two cars were caught racing at speeds up to 200 km/h on Mount Seymour Parkway in North Vancouver, BC.
In 2009, a man on a motorcycle was clocked by police radar doing 210 km/h on a stretch of Saskatoon's Idylwyld Freeway, and last October, a Thornhill, Ont. man was caught going 200km/h on Highway 407
